California Disciplinary Contractors License Bond
Contractor Bonds
The California Disciplinary Contractors License Bond is required by the State of California Contractors State License Board.
The California Contractors State License Board (CLSB) requires that if a license has been revoked or suspended for a violation of contractors license law, the contractor must file a disciplinary bond. The California Disciplinary Contractors License Bond is required to reinstate, reissue or reapply for a new license. However, only some suspensions require the filing of this bond.
If appropriate, CSLB will attempt to mediate and help achieve a resolution without disciplinary action. However, complaints involving serious violations of Contractors’ State License Law, like, poor workmanship, abandonment, misuse of funds, failure to obtain a building permit, or failure to maintain workers’ compensation for employees, can result in formal disciplinary action, even if the licensee does not have a history of complaints.
The bond must be on file with Contractors State License Board for at least two years.
